Summary
Three-part clinical training series for the alpHaONE Wireless pH Capsule System, designed for patients, nurses, technicians, and physicians.
Launched as a flagship education initiative supporting product adoption, clinical confidence, and internal training alignment across multiple audiences.
Challenge
Laborie needed a comprehensive training solution for the alpHaONE Wireless pH Capsule Reflux Monitoring System that would educate patients, prepare nurses and technicians, and give physicians practical placement guidance for a procedure that is rarely observed in the field.
Objectives & Outcomes
Objective
Deliver patient, clinical, and physician training assets that improve adoption and confidence in the alpHaONE system.
Outcome
The finished training series supports patient education, clinical onboarding, and physician guidance through structured, reusable video assets aligned with real clinical workflows. The trilogy received strong feedback from clinicians, sales teams, and patients, improved understanding across audiences, reduced dependence on live training, and supported broader education efforts while maintaining clinical credibility.
Approach
Clinical Considerations
Clinical accuracy and workflow understanding informed every production decision, ensuring the content reflected real-world use without oversimplification.
Production Strategy
Following DDW in San Diego, J2 Media planned a four-environment production across an Orange County physician office, surgery center, physician interview setup, and at-home patient workflow. When patient interviews became restricted, the production adapted quickly with a patient stand-in to preserve clarity without losing continuity.
Execution
Environment
Professional studio and on-site clinical production environments
Content Scope
Clinical & Patient Education
- Patient education video
- Spanish-subtitled patient education version for LATAM audiences
- In-service setup training video for nurses and technicians
Physician & Internal Enablement
- Physician placement tips and best-practices video
- Updated versions incorporating motion tracking and revisions based on early customer feedback
Additional Notes
This program was built as a flagship education initiative for a complex device launch. Beyond the deliverables themselves, the series gave Laborie a durable training framework that could scale across patient, clinical, and internal audiences without asking the field team to recreate the education experience every time.
